How does the Kish to Charak ferry work and where do I buy tickets?

Updated:

Two services, two tickets

The passenger ferry carries people only. The landing craft carries the car with its driver and passengers. Tickets and schedules are separate, and under the portal's rules a car-ferry ticket is non-refundable. The portal states car-ferry fares include the passenger fare.

Crossing time and cost

A secondary source (1404 / 2025-26) puts the landing-craft crossing from Charak at about two hours and the reference round-trip fare for an ordinary car at about 4,650,000 toman. That figure is old and secondary, not today's price; check the portal. We have no sourced duration or price for the passenger ferry.

Practical steps

Suggested order from planning to the port:

Steps

  1. Check the schedule for your date. Landing-craft departure times are approximate and loading can add up to 45 minutes.
  2. Buy only on the official portal and enter personal and plate details exactly; mismatches mean tolls are charged again on exit.
  3. Be at the port one hour before departure as a passenger and 30 minutes before with a car.
  4. Bring valid ID; the car needs valid technical inspection and third-party insurance.
  5. Pay the island entry toll at the origin port gate; otherwise it is taken at the Kish port gate on return.

Weather

The official portal says trips run when weather allows and that sea conditions around Kish change. Leave a time buffer and confirm with the portal on windy days.

Official sources

AzKish is not a ticket seller; ferry tickets are bought only on the official portal.

Frequently asked

Is the passenger ferry the same as the landing craft?

No. The passenger ferry carries people; the landing craft carries cars. Tickets and schedules differ.

Can I get a refund on a car-ferry ticket?

Per the portal's short rules, car-ferry tickets are non-refundable, so allow time for the road.

Where do I see the passenger ticket price?

Only on the official Kish Ports portal. We do not quote a fixed price.
