آیا این 130 بلند اضافی، لوکس اضافی صاحب کلاسیک 90 ما را قانع کرد؟
دیفندر 130 از Autocar Towers رفته و به JLR بازگشته است. دومین Defender نسل جدید بود که رانده ایم، بعد از 90، اما اولین که از 2016 که خط تولید Defender کلاسیک پایان یافت، مراقبت کردم.
در آن زمان، صاحبان Defender به هم سلام می کردند وقتی از کنار هم می گذشتند (با داشتن 90 قدیمی، تایید می کنم که بسیاری هنوز می کنند)، و تعجب کردم آیا همین برای مدل جایگزین true خواهد بود.

نمی live halfway up Ben Nevis, though, پس now able به try taking 130 well و truly out comfort zone با few long motorway schleps, fortnight Ikea runs, tip trips و commuting through tight, twisting, traffic-choked veins suburban London.
در fact, not sure haven’t found this car’s limit. expecting به achieve 16mpg و get stuck در every T-junction. Instead, consumes about as much as would expect Volkswagen Golf GTI over 400 miles و proves itself as manoeuvrable as average estate car (با bit practice و lot help از parking aids).
whisper-quiet در motorway speeds و hassle-free در city traffic؛ sneaks under every height restrictor و comfortably accommodates untold quantities flat-pack flotsam؛ reverses down tight cul-de-sac من و slots به tiny space outside house من (while blocking all natural light به living room من)؛ و saves من hundreds pounds در moving costs توسط doubling up به عنوان mid-sized van.

specification particularly sinister 130 ما nothing برای ease glares و tuts که such large و darkened vehicles attract در urban areas. و yet, حتی وقتی fire up grumbly diesel, حتی وقتی remind detractors که alternative screaming supercharged petrol V8.

No sooner had written که Ford Ranger Raptor left Autocar's long-term fleet (به join Steve Cropley's personal fleet, و fair play به او), similarly large vehicle arrived برای replace آن.

last time Defender joined Autocar's long-term fleet, very pleasant 90, pleasure working through configurator و picking choice options: steel wheels, blue paint, white root, chunky tyres.

This time around, different: looking after car, اما arrived pre-specced. 130 come به ما در Outbound trim, با 3.0-litre six-cylinder twin-turbo mild-hybrid diesel making 296bhp.
(This D300 registered few months ago؛ now this trim comes با minimum D350 diesel.) As expect, given name, Outbound one more lifestyley variants Defender.

Crucially, Outbound avallable only با five seats, rather than eight, برای prioritise load bay capacity over passenger carrying.

و sure, 4x4, اما ease off و relax و can return 40mpg روی long cruise. Not many years ago, 1.4-litre petrol supermini wouldn't have done that.
Like Raptor که went before آن, not simplest thing به park, اما can be در Suzuki Swift و still head به quiet car park bay right در end row و then scooch up against wall یا kerb, so doesn't make much difference.
و really good reversing camera که shows how much room spare wheel requires, plus space needed اگر want به still open rear door. lots little niche features مثل that around Defender. More on them در weeks به come.
